Arthur J. Weiss was among a small group of legal experts in Metro Detroit who the Detroit Free Press called to comment on former President Donald Trump’s indictment. While all the experts expect the case to become a long, drawn-out process, Weiss pointed out that the nature of the documents and evidence takes the case beyond simply a political kerfuffle. “At the end of the day, yeah, it’s not first-degree murder. It’s not a violent armed robbery. It’s a financial crime … and you can demean it all you want, but at the end of the day people get prosecuted for it.”
